Disciples of Jesus get our doctrines from the words of Yahweh and Jesus in true Scripture Verbatim. We don’t minimize their words to make people feel warm and fuzzy.
Since the false texts attributed to the Disciple John were accepted as true scripture, Yahweh has been thought of as love. “God is Love” says the writer of the letter people called “1st John”. This verse and others like it led to the idea that “God hates the sin, but not the sinner”. This is a false doctrine. The verses below are left without comment so the reader can make up their own mind.
NOTE: These verses should be balanced with the passages on God’s mercy for all people. The reality is there is something that causes men to enter into being abhorred by God. Its possible God could love a person and abhor them at the same time.
[ My personal opinion [just my opinion] as far as sinners go is there are three types of sinners. Those who sin and are not aware they are sinning. Those who sin and feel bad about it. They usually WANT to be a better person. Then there are those who sin and don’t care they are sinning. The third group I find personally abhorrent and could definitely see God feeling this was as well. ]
