21st Command: Peace Offering

COMMAND

Exodus 20:24 KJV
An altar of earth thou shalt make unto me, and shalt sacrifice thereon thy burnt offerings, and thy peace offerings, thy sheep, and thine oxen: in all places where I record my name I will come unto thee, and I will bless thee.

ETERNAL STATUTE

Leviticus 3:17 KJV
It shall be a perpetual statute for your generations throughout all your dwellings…

NOTE: The reader will have to decide if we are to sacrifice animals. The details in this commandment include “Aaron’s Sons”. So without Aaron’s Sons, who is supposed to sacrifice?  Disciples of Jesus currently do not sacrifice. With that said the reasons against it are often not scriptural. Like “There is not temple”. The commandment here does not include a temple. Its on “earth”. Also Noah and Abel sacrificed.

So the question comes, “How it is perpetual then?”. Like any command, something can be perpetual even if its impossible to practice. When the items or people are present, or the circumstances change so the command can be kept then we keep it. Like “Honor your mother and father”. If you have no parents, the commandment is still perpetual even though you are unable to practice it.
