The English speaking understanding of the word ‘Evil’ leaves out the idea that destruction is evil. The Hebrew word for Evil is רַע , or ‘Ra’.  Christians think that ‘Evil’ and God cannot be related. God is only ‘good’, and cannot do evil. This is a great example of why Disciples of Jesus must look up the true meaning of every word.

Here are some examples of Evil being connected to God:

Isaiah 45:7 KJV – I form the light, and create darkness: I make peace, and create evil: I the LORD do all these [things].

This verse perplexes alot of ignorant people. It shakes their trust in God. Atheists use it to say “Look! your God creates evil! Therefore he can’t be good!” But ‘evil’ here is about destruction. When God flooded the Earth, this was Ra-Evil according to the Hebrew definition.
