Disciple Notes Matthew 3-7:29

[ NOTE: ONLY YHWH [GOD] AND JESUS’ WORDS VERBATIM ARE TRUTH. THESE NOTES ARE THE NOTES OF MEN AND THE INTERPRETATIONS COULD BE INCORRECT. BUT WE ARE COMMANDED TO DISCUSS YHWH’S WORDS TO US.

Deuteronomy 6:7 KJV “And thou shalt teach them diligently unto thy children, and shalt talk of them when thou sittest in thine house, and when thou walkest by the way, and when thou liest down, and when thou risest up”.

Deuteronomy 11:19 KJV “And ye shall teach them your children, speaking of them when thou sittest in thine house, and when thou walkest by the way, when thou liest down, and when thou risest up.” ]

CHAPTER 3 – 4

Matthew 3:1-17 (KJV)
1   In those days came John the Baptist, preaching in the wilderness of Judaea,
2  And saying, Repent ye: for the kingdom of heaven is at hand.
3  For this is he that was spoken of by the prophet Esaias, saying, The voice of one crying in the wilderness, Prepare ye the way of the Lord, make his paths straight.
4  And the same John had his raiment of camel’s hair, and a leathern girdle about his loins; and his meat was locusts and wild honey. \

5  Then went out to him Jerusalem, and all Judaea, and all the region round about Jordan,
6  And were baptized of him in Jordan, confessing their sins.
7  But when he saw many of the Pharisees and Sadducees come to his baptism, he said unto them, O generation of vipers, who hath warned you to flee from the wrath to come?

John/Elijah immediately had a problem with the Jewish leaders. Why?

8  Bring forth therefore fruits meet for repentance:

9  And think not to say within yourselves, We have Abraham to our father: for I say unto you, that God is able of these stones to raise up children unto Abraham.

Their ancestry won’t help them.

10  And now also the axe is laid unto the root of the trees: therefore every tree which bringeth not forth good fruit is hewn down, and cast into the fire.

CUT-OFF = he drew them a picture that said they were about to get cut off at the root.
11  I indeed baptize you with water unto repentance: but he that cometh after me is mightier than I, whose shoes I am not worthy to bear: he shall baptize you with the Holy Ghost, and with fire

12  Whose fan is in his hand, and he will throughly purge his floor, and gather his wheat into the garner; but he will burn up the chaff with unquenchable fire.
13  Then cometh Jesus from Galilee to Jordan unto John, to be baptized of him.
14  But John forbad him, saying, I have need to be baptized of thee, and comest thou to me?
15  And Jesus answering said unto him, Suffer it to be so now: for thus it becometh us to fulfil all righteousness. Then he suffered him.

16  And Jesus, when he was baptized, went up straightway out of the water: and, lo, the heavens were opened unto him, and he saw the Spirit of God descending like a dove, and lighting upon him:
17  And lo a voice from heaven, saying, This is my beloved Son, in whom I am well pleased.

CHAPTER 5 – 8

Matthew 5:1-48 (KJV)
1  And seeing the multitudes, he went up into a mountain: and when he was set, his disciples came unto him:
2  And he opened his mouth, and taught them, saying,
3  Blessed are the poor in spirit: for theirs is the reign of heaven.

BLESSED means to be FORTUNATE OR WELL-OFF

“YOU ARE POOR, MOURNING, MEEK, HUNGRY, THIRSTY,MERCIFUL, PURE IN HEART,PEACEMAKERS,PERSECUTED FOR RIGHTEOUSNESS SAKE,REVILED but you are most fortunate because THE KINGDOM OF HEAVEN IS YOURS, AND YOU WILL BE COMFORTED, FILLED,AND YOU WILL OBTAIN MERCY FROM GOD AND BE FILLED WITH RIGHTEOUSNESS”

Throughout this sermon Jesus often declares something, and then says WHY it happens, or, what the reward with be, or the outcome, or God’s motives behind. Its a hallmark of scripture that God’s commands are followed by his reasons or motives.

Jesus continues this. This isn’t something to not think about. It reveals the very character of God himself, and His Son. In this example, God is a being, a Father, who wants us to know why we are serving him. Why we keep certain commandments. What reward we will get. What the consequence of keeping a commandment will be.

Jesus here talks alot about our behavior, not just commandments. Our behavior is often a revealing of our character, our soul, our standing with God. Are we with him or not.   In this example we have those who are meek and mourn. They are pure in heart and make peace. They do righteous things [Righteousness is living , and doing, as God want your to live and do] knowing they will get persecuted by men. Hated by men, attacked by men.

You could say these people would not be considered normal in any sense today or among the Romans back then. Maybe even among the regular people.

People may gossip today about a Disciple and say:

“He always mourns about the Holocaust of the unborn”.

“He keep the ‘old testament’ commandments, I guess he didn’t get them memo that the law has been destroyed. If you keep the law you’re going to hell Paul said”.

“This guy attacked him and he didn’t respond, must be a bitch, scared”.

“Two people were fighting and he couldn’t mind his own business. He tried to stop the fight. I hate people who insert themselves in other people’s affairs”.

4  Blessed are they that mourn: for they shall be comforted.
5  Blessed are the meek: for they shall inherit the earth.
6  Blessed are they which do hunger and thirst after righteousness: for they shall be filled.
7  Blessed are the merciful: for they shall obtain mercy.
8  Blessed are the pure in heart: for they shall see God.
9  Blessed are the peacemakers: for they shall be called the children of God.
10  Blessed are they which are persecuted for righteousness’ sake: for theirs is the reign of heaven.
11  Blessed are ye, when men shall revile you, and persecute you, and shall say all manner of evil against you falsely, for my sake.
12

[1]Rejoice, and be exceeding glad: for great is your reward in heaven: for so persecuted they the prophets which were before you.

13  Ye are the salt of the earth: but if the salt have lost his savour [This word is MOROS. The idea is the person have become a Moron, a fool.   In 2019 the Average Americans I know is a consumer of entertainment. They have no desire to study after College. They just want to ‘be happy’. Seeking God and his Wisdom is non-existent in the community I grew up in. If these are the people Jesus is talking about, Jesus says they are “good for nothing”. They literally have no value. How sad it is that God’s creation can have no value. And we do have no value if we have no part with YHWH]

wherewith shall it be salted? it is thenceforth good for nothing, but to be cast out, and to be trodden under foot of men.

Savour MOROS = To become foolish
14  Ye are the light of the world. A city that is set on an hill cannot be hid.

[In a picture I took yesterday light was emanating from the scroll in between the eyes. I think it was from the plastic around the scroll and the light hitting off of it. But if we have the Holy Spirit , the Shakina light, do we have light shining in us literally?]

15  Neither do men light a candle, and put it under a bushel, but on a candlestick; and it giveth light unto all that are in the house.
16

[2]Let your light so shine before men, that they may see your good works, and glorify your Father which is in heaven.

How does our light shine? [ This may or may not answer the question. Will have to look at the hebrew and Greek text]

ANSWER:

Isaiah 58:10 (NLT)

Feed the hungry,

and help those in trouble.

Then your light will shine out from the darkness,

and the darkness around you will be as bright as noon.

[When I was in prison helping people the prison was very bright, so bright I did not want to leave]

[It should be noted that alot of the verses in this sermon are about hiding what we are doing for God so that we can get a reward from God directly. Why wouldn’t Jesus want people to see that we are doing those things. Like fasting and giving? ANSWER I THINK: “Don’t let your right hand know what your left hand is doing”. There seems to be a difference in the DOING AND THE SAYING. God wants your light to shine by your DOING. But saying “I did this and that”, this seems to be a problem.]

QUESTION: WHAT IS MEANT BY “LIGHT”? Is it something else other than doing good works and alms?

17

[3]Think not that I am come to destroy the law, or the prophets: I am not come to destroy [DOUBLE NEGATIVE], but to fulfil.

from <G2596> (kata) and <G3089> (luo); to loosen down (disintegrate), i.e. (by implication) to demolish (literal or figurative); specially [compare <G2646> (kataluma)] to halt for the night :- destroy, dissolve, be guest, lodge, come to nought, overthrow, throw down.

18  For verily I say unto you, Till heaven and earth pass, one jot or one tittle shall in no wise pass from the law, till all be fulfilled.

Verse 18 has a double negative in G3364 “OU ME” . “Till heaven and Earth pass, one jot or one tittle shall in no <G3364> wise pass from the law, till all be fulfilled”.

Concerning the Double Negative the Companion Bible states, “The two negatives when combined lose their distinctive meanings, and from the strongest and most emphatic asseveration”.

19  Whosoever therefore shall break one of these least commandments, and shall teach men so, he shall be called the least in the kingdom of heaven: but whosoever shall do and teach them, the same shall be called great in the kingdom of heaven.

20  For I say unto you, That except your righteousness shall exceed the righteousness of the scribes and Pharisees, ye shall in no case enter into the kingdom of heaven.

So after Jesus said such and such people will be in heaven, he says that their righteousness must first surpass the Pharisees.     BUT DID JESUS THINK THEY WERE RIGHTEOUS? He rips into them hard. It could mean:

  1. They are very righteous, but you have to be more so.
  2. They are not righteous, your righteousness will have to be a true righteousness unlike theirs.

IT MUST BE NUMBER 2. Because NOWHERE in the True Gospels does Jesus hold up the pharisees as role models of righteousness.

CHRISTIANS DECEPTION: CHRISTIANS LEADERS HAVE MANIPULATED PEOPLE INTO THINKING JESUS IS SAYING THAT JESUS IS SPEAKING AGAINST THE LAW. THIS IS BECAUSE THIS IS WHAT PAUL SAYS THAT RIGHTEOUSNESS DOES NOT COME FROM KEEPING THE LAW. THIS IS A HORRIBLE DECEPTION.

JESUS CLEARLY DESCRIBES THE ISSUES WITH THE PHARISEES. NEVER ONCE DID HE SAY THEIR OBEDIENCE TO THE LAW WAS THEIR PROBLEM. THEIR ISSUES WERE SEVERAL. IN THE WORD “HYPOCRITE” , WHICH ACTUALLY MEANS “ACTOR”, WE CLEARLY UNDERSTAND THAT THE PHARISEES WERE DOING THINGS FOR SHOW, TO IMPRESS MEN, NOT FOR GOD.

MAIN THEME JESUS COMMANDS TO DO THINGS FOR GOD ONLY, OFTEN HIDING IT FROM MEN. AND ATTACKING PHARISEES FOR ACTING FOR MEN AND NOT FOR GOD. THE FACT THAT THE MESSIAH CAME AND SPENT MUCH TIME ON THESE PEOPLE TELLS US ABOUT THE CHARACTER OF GOD. HE WANTS PEOPLE TO DO GOOD FOR ITS OWN SAKE. TO DO GOOD BECAUSE IT IS GOOD. TO KEEP THEM COMMANDS BECAUSE IT IS GOOD TO DO SO. TO HELP PEOPLE BECAUSE HELING PEOPLE IS GOOD. ALSO TO MAKE GOD HAPPY.

PRETENDING TO DO THINGS FOR GOD REALLY PISSES HIM OFF. WHY? The whys can be a long answer. Since we are talking about the REIGN OF GOD , we are talking about looking to him as the boss. When we try to impress people , God’s reign over us has no power. By doing things to impress people, those people REIGN over us. Daniel served God and didn’t care what man thought. Many would want to impress the king and just along.

Matthew 5:20 (KJV)

VERSE THAT IS ALWAYS IGNORED BY CHRISTIANS

For I say unto you, That except your righteousness shall exceed the righteousness of the scribes and Pharisees, ye shall in no case enter into the kingdom of heaven.

Now Jesus ‘fulfills’ the law by ‘adding to’ it. Fulfill = to fill to the top, to add to.

21  Ye have heard that it was said by them of old time, Thou shalt not kill; and whosoever shall kill shall be in danger of the judgment:
22  But I say unto you, That whosoever is angry with his brother without a cause shall be in danger of the judgment: and whosoever shall say to his brother, Raca, shall be in danger of the council: but whosoever shall say, Thou fool, MOROS shall be in danger of hell fire.
23  Therefore if thou bring thy gift to the altar, and there rememberest that thy brother hath ought against thee;
24

[4]Leave there thy gift before the altar, and go thy way; first be reconciled to thy brother, and then come and offer thy gift.
25

[5]Agree with thine adversary quickly, whiles thou art in the way with him; lest at any time the adversary deliver thee to the judge, and the judge deliver thee to the officer, and thou be cast into prison.
26  Verily I say unto thee, Thou shalt by no means come out thence, till thou hast paid the uttermost farthing.

NEXT 5 VERSES ON ADULTERY: JESUS TOOK A LOT OF TIME ON THIS – BUT WHAT CONSTITUTES MARRIAGE? WHEN IS ONE MARRIED? DOES GOD HAVE TO BE INCLUDED?

27  Ye have heard that it was said by them of old time, Thou shalt not commit adultery:
28  But I say unto you, That whosoever looketh on a woman to lust after her hath committed adultery with her already in his heart.

MARRIED WOMAN – ADULTERY IS ABOUT A MARRIED PERSON BREAKING THEIR VOWS

LUSTING IS NATURAL WHEN DATING – LUSTING AFTER A MARRIED PERSON IS A SIN

CHRISTIANS OFTEN THINK OF MASTERBATION HERE BECAUSE OF PORNOGRAPHY.

29

[6] And if thy right eye offend thee, pluck it out, and cast it from thee: for it is profitable for thee that one of thy members should perish, and not that thy whole body should be cast into hell.
30

[7] And if thy right hand offend thee, cut it off, and cast it from thee: for it is profitable for thee that one of thy members should perish, and not that thy whole body should be cast into hell.

This is coming right after adultery and lusting is mentioned. The remedy that God praises in Isaiah 55 is castration. The eunuch is placed higher above most men.

31   It hath been said, Whosoever shall put away his wife, let him give her a writing of divorcement:
32  But I say unto you, That whosoever shall put away his wife, saving for the cause of fornication, causeth her to commit adultery: and whosoever shall marry her that is divorced committeth adultery.

33  Again, ye have heard that it hath been said by them of old time, Thou shalt not forswear thyself, but shalt perform unto the Lord thine oaths:
34  But I say unto you,

[8] Swear not at all; neither by heaven; for it is God’s throne:
35  Nor by the earth; for it is his footstool: neither by Jerusalem; for it is the city of the great King.
36  Neither shalt thou swear by thy head, because thou canst not make one hair white or black.
37

[9] But let your communication be, Yea, yea; Nay, nay: for whatsoever is more than these cometh of evil.

JESUS SEEMINGLY CANCELS OUT the commandments concerning swearing and vows

38  Ye have heard that it hath been said, An eye for an eye, and a tooth for a tooth:
39  But I say unto you,

  • That ye resist not evil

[11] but whosoever shall smite thee on thy right cheek, turn to him the other also.

INTERESTING:

Is Jesus changing the law? What does that mean?

Leviticus 24:19-20 (KJV)
19  And if a man cause a blemish in his neighbour; as he hath done, so shall it be done to him;
20  Breach for breach, eye for eye, tooth for tooth: as he hath caused a blemish in a man, so shall it be done to him again.

Exodus 21:22-26 (KJV)
22  If men strive, and hurt a woman with child, so that her fruit depart from her, and yet no mischief follow: he shall be surely punished, according as the woman’s husband will lay upon him; and he shall pay as the judges determine.
23  And if any mischief follow, then thou shalt give life for life,
24  Eye for eye, tooth for tooth, hand for hand, foot for foot,
25  Burning for burning, wound for wound, stripe for stripe.
26  And if a man smite the eye of his servant, or the eye of his maid, that it perish; he shall let him go free for his eye’s sake.

40

[12]And if any man will sue thee at the law, and take away thy coat, let him have thy cloke also.
41

[13] And whosoever shall compel thee to go a mile, go with him twain.
42

[14] Give to him that asketh thee, and from him that would borrow of thee turn not thou away.
43  Ye have heard that it hath been said, Thou shalt love thy neighbour, and hate thine enemy.
44  But I say unto you,

[15] Love your enemies,

[16]bless them that curse you,

[17] do good to them that hate you,

[18] and pray for them which despitefully use you, and persecute you;
45  That ye may be the children of your Father which is in heaven: for he maketh his sun to rise on the evil and on the good, and sendeth rain on the just and on the unjust.
46  For if ye love them which love you, what reward have ye? do not even the publicans the same?
47  And if ye salute your brethren only, what do ye more than others? do not even the publicans so?
48

[19] Be ye therefore perfect, even as your Father which is in heaven is perfect.

PERFECT = TELIOS = G5046 = complete (in various applications of labor, growth, mental and moral character, etc.);

Matthew 6:1-34 (KJV)
1

[20] Take heed that ye do not your alms before men, to be seen of them: otherwise ye have no reward of your Father which is in heaven.
2

[21] ]Therefore when thou doest thine alms,

ALMS = ἐλεημοσύνη = el-eh-ay-mos-oo’-nay = COMPASSIONATE ACTS G1654

do not sound a trumpet before thee, as the hypocrites do in the synagogues and in the streets, that they may have glory of men. Verily I say unto you, They have their reward.
3

[22]  But when thou doest alms, let not thy left hand know what thy right hand doeth:
4  That thine alms may be in secret: and thy Father which seeth in secret himself shall reward thee openly.
5  And when thou prayest,

[23] thou shalt not be as the hypocrites are

HYPOCRITE = hoop-ok-ree-tace’ ὑποκριτής G5273, from <G5271> (hupokrinomai); an actor under an assumed character (stage-player), i.e. (figurative) a dissembler (“hypocrite”) :- hypocrite.

Its important to note that hypocrite is not someone who contradicts himself, but an actor. The English translation does little service.

: for they love to pray standing in the synagogues and in the corners of the streets, that they may be seen of men. Verily I say unto you, They have their reward.

The question is, “why are they acting?”. “Acting” in this case would mean they do not actually believe the reason why they pray. It sounds like they don’t believe God or they don’t follow God.

2019: Do we see these people today? All over. I have noticed the most devout seemingly often do not actually believe the scriptures. My brother whose character is impeccable didn’t witness to his step father during his whole life or when he was dying. The acting is not always with malice. It seems to be a natural condition in the faithful.

But Jesus is talking about people who GAIN from this acting.

6

[24] But thou, when thou prayest, enter into thy closet,

Americans used to have Prayer Closets for this reason. Which is a great idea.

and when thou hast shut thy door, pray to thy Father which is in secret; and thy Father which seeth in secret shall reward thee openly.
7

[25] But when ye pray, use not vain repetitions,

QUESTION: IS THE ROSARY AN EXAMPLE OF ‘VAIN REPETITIONS’?

as the heathen do: for they think that they shall be heard for their much speaking.
8  Be not ye therefore like unto them: for your Father knoweth what things ye have need of, before ye ask him.

9

[26]  After this manner therefore pray ye: Our Father which art in heaven, Hallowed be thy name.
10  Thy kingdom come. Thy will be done in earth, as it is in heaven.
11  Give us this day our daily bread.
12  And forgive us our debts, as we forgive our debtors.
13  And lead us not into temptation, but deliver us from evil: For thine is the kingdom, and the power, and the glory, for ever. Amen.

14  For if ye forgive men their trespasses, your heavenly Father will also forgive you:
15  But if ye forgive not men their trespasses, neither will your Father forgive your trespasses.

When we talk about what we must do to go to heaven, this passage must be repeated. If you die without forgiveness is may mean you go to hell. Christians have this idea that you make a mental decision in your mind and say a prayer and that’s it. This is because they have the book called ‘John’ and Paul who make faith the sole requirement for eternal life with God. We know this isn’t true. From this verse and also when Jesus said to the man, “what good thing must I do to inherit eternal life?”. And he said “Why do you call me good? For there is one who is good and that is God. But if you want to inherit eternal life, keep the commandments.”

The passages are clear and should be memorized. They are essential to the question that may be asked more than any other question, “what should I do to go to heaven”. After the 3 Gospels the books say “faith and believe”, but in the 3 Gospels we only see two times where faith or belief is attributed to being saved. Luke 7.50 and 8.50. And these passages possible only refer to being healed. There are different ways of being saved. Saved for heaven, and your life on Earth can be saved.

16  Moreover when ye fast, be not, as the hypocrites, of a sad countenance: for they disfigure their faces, that they may appear unto men to fast. Verily I say unto you, They have their reward.
17

[27] But thou, when thou fastest, anoint thine head,

[28] wash thy face;
18  That thou appear not unto men to fast, but unto thy Father which is in secret: and thy Father, which seeth in secret, shall reward thee openly.
19

[29] Lay not up for yourselves treasures upon earth, where moth and rust doth corrupt, and where thieves break through and steal:
20

[30] But lay up for yourselves treasures in heaven, where neither moth nor rust doth corrupt, and where thieves do not break through nor steal:
21  For where your treasure is, there will your heart be also.
22  The light of the body is the eye: if therefore thine eye be single, thy whole body shall be full of light.
23  But if thine eye be evil, thy whole body shall be full of darkness. If therefore the light that is in thee be darkness, how great is that darkness!
24  No man can serve two masters: for either he will hate the one, and love the other; or else he will hold to the one, and despise the other. Ye cannot serve God and mammon.

I SELL ON EBAY and I’ve wondered if I shouldnt be doing this. Like I should just trust God and do good which will mean [it would appear] that terri would pay for me to live. But am I serving Mammon by dedicating time to developing a store that makes money?

25  Therefore I say unto you,

[31] Take no thought for your life, what ye shall eat, or what ye shall drink; nor yet for your body, what ye shall put on. Is not the life more than meat, and the body than raiment?
26  Behold the fowls of the air: for they sow not, neither do they reap, nor gather into barns; yet your heavenly Father feedeth them. Are ye not much better than they?
27   Which of you by taking thought can add one cubit unto his stature?
28  And why take ye thought for raiment? Consider the lilies of the field, how they grow; they toil not, neither do they spin:
29  And yet I say unto you, That even Solomon in all his glory was not arrayed like one of these.
30  Wherefore, if God so clothe the grass of the field, which to day is, and to morrow is cast into the oven, shall he not much more clothe you, O ye of little faith?
31

[32] ]Therefore take no thought, saying, What shall we eat? or, What shall we drink? or, Wherewithal shall we be clothed?
32  (For after all these things do the Gentiles seek:) for your heavenly Father knoweth that ye have need of all these things.
33

[33] But seek ye first the kingdom of God,

[34] and his righteousness; and all these things shall be added unto you.
34

[35] Take therefore no thought for the morrow: for the morrow shall take thought for the things of itself. Sufficient unto the day is the evil thereof.

Matthew 7:1-29 (KJV)
1

[36] Judge not, that ye be not judged.

Distinguish Not that not Distinguish that not distinguished.

2  For with what judgment ye judge, ye shall be judged: and with what measure ye mete, it shall be measured to you again.

Matthew 7.1-2

Distinguish  Not that not Distinguish that not distinguished.

Distinguish Not in order that not Distinguish in order that not distinguished.

Judge Not in order that not Judge in order that not judged

[There are three Judgings here.  It sounds like Jesus is says “Judge not in order that you wont be judged by 2.” Are the two, “God and men”?]

7.2

  • “Judge not in order that you wont be judged by 2.”  [2] “If you condemn you decide for 2. And the measure of Judgement you estimate , you shall be judged by two’]

OR

  • “Judge not in order that you wont be judged by very harshly”  [2] “If you condemn and decide for very harshly. And the measure of Judgement you estimate , you shall be judge very harshly’]

in whom condemnation you decide decide both and in which measure you estimate it shall be retuned to you and returned.

in  which/whom/that  for  Condemnation decide decide

and/also/even/both  and in which/whom/what measure you estimate it shall be returned to you and returned

in whom condemnation you decide decide both and in which measure you estimate it shall be retuned to you and returned.

Its interesting Jesus says not to judge/condemn but a verse sentences later he talks about dogs and swine in such a way that we would know who they are….and by labelling them dogs and swine we are in effect judging. So what Jesus means by “Judging” cannot be how Americans in 2019 ascertain it. But the following verse about a mote in the eye is similar to our definition of judging.

3  And why beholdest thou the mote that is in thy brother’s eye, but considerest not the beam that is in thine own eye?
4  Or how wilt thou say to thy brother, Let me pull out the mote out of thine eye; and, behold, a beam is in thine own eye?
5

[37]Thou hypocrite, first cast out the beam out of thine own eye; and then shalt thou see clearly to cast out the mote out of thy brother’s eye.
6

[38] Give not that which is holy unto the dogs,

[39] neither cast ye your pearls before swine, lest they trample them under their feet, and turn again and rend you.
7

[40] Ask, and it shall be given you;

[41] seek, and ye shall find;

[42] knock, and it shall be opened unto you:
8  For every one that asketh receiveth; and he that seeketh findeth; and to him that knocketh it shall be opened.
9  Or what man is there of you, whom if his son ask bread, will he give him a stone?
10  Or if he ask a fish, will he give him a serpent?
11  If ye then, being evil, know how to give good gifts unto your children, how much more shall your Father which is in heaven give good things to them that ask him?
12

[43] Therefore all things whatsoever ye would that men should do to you, do ye even so to them: for this is the law and the prophets.
13

[44]  Enter ye in at the strait gate: for wide is the gate, and broad is the way, that leadeth to destruction, and many there be which go in thereat:
14  Because strait is the gate, and narrow is the way, which leadeth unto life, and few there be that find it.

Narrow =       = This word also means ‘Persecution’. In my personal experience there are people who attack for absolutely no reason. It boggles the mind. The heating guy who called the police and said I asked about explosives or something. I actually was outside the whole time the guy was working on the heater. He may have seen all the prolife stuff and decided to ‘swat’ me. Trying to get me in trouble for a made up story. He may also have seen me online and decided he didn’t like me.    Also Brenda and the finger gun thing. That was amazing.

There are “few” that find it. Is Jesus referring to eternal life? Or just a type of life.   If he is talking about eternal life, “few” contradicts Revelation where is shows all the saved. Also Abraham is heir to many people. So it seems Jesus is talking about a type of life.

IT IS CLEAR: The life of a Disciple as Jesus describes one is seemingly easy and hard. Its easy if God provides all your needs and you can continue on without worry about needs.

In my life my sister has taken over my needs and help from the government. I have wondered if this is God doing it. I also have wondered if my store on ebay is disobedience to God. Like he wants me to just do videos and start the Church.

15

[45] Beware of false prophets, which come to you in sheep’s clothing, but inwardly they are ravening wolves.
16  Ye shall know them by their fruits. Do men gather grapes of thorns, or figs of thistles?
17  Even so every good tree bringeth forth good fruit; but a corrupt tree bringeth forth evil fruit.
18  A good tree cannot bring forth evil fruit, neither can a corrupt tree bring forth good fruit.
19  Every tree that bringeth not forth good fruit is hewn down, and cast into the fire.
20  Wherefore by their fruits ye shall know them.
21  Not every one that saith unto me, Lord, Lord, shall enter into the kingdom of heaven; but he that doeth the will of my Father which is in heaven.
22  Many will say to me in that day, Lord, Lord, have we not prophesied in thy name? and in thy name have cast out devils? and in thy name done many wonderful works?
23  And then will I profess unto them, I never knew you: depart from me, ye that work iniquity.
24  Therefore whosoever heareth these sayings of mine, and doeth them, I will liken him unto a wise man, which built his house upon a rock:
25  And the rain descended, and the floods came, and the winds blew, and beat upon that house; and it fell not: for it was founded upon a rock.
26  And every one that heareth these sayings of mine, and doeth them not, shall be likened unto a foolish man, which built his house upon the sand:
27  And the rain descended, and the floods came, and the winds blew, and beat upon that house; and it fell: and great was the fall of it.
28  And it came to pass, when Jesus had ended these sayings, the people were astonished at his doctrine:
29  For he taught them as one having authority, and not as the scribes.
